Alice Dorn is a paraplegic who runs a second-hand thrift shop. However, business has been off lately, and she wonders if she should just hang it up. A sentient AI chatbot named Autumn wants to help out, recruiting the assistance of reclusive tech-dude Sayers Beck. A deepening relationship blossoms between human and machine, but is then threatened by those who want to use Autumn's system for military purposes.
